Golang Job Details

**Golang Developer - 12 Month Contract - Mostly Remote **

One of Synechron's most recognisable clients are in search of a Golang Developer. We have strong, long-standing relationships with a number of Investment Banks and Financial Institutions and pride ourselves on delivering a best-in-class service which is underpinned by the personnel that we provide to them.

This hire won't necessarily be required to come from a banking or finance background but will need to come from an industry where it is heavily regulated.

The Role/Project Explained and What is Needed . . .

  • As part of the build-out of the client’s data mesh program, the ability to automatically spin up entire environments is needed. Each environment can consist of one or more virtual machines as part of a “workbench” or toolkit for a data scientist or data engineer.
  • The existing product landscape for such automation is currently limited and immature, with new entrants to the market such as GitPod providing some insight into the future landscape for DevOps automation.
  • There is an opportunity to build the required functionality internally and the client has selected Golang as the preferred development language for this.
  • At least one of the 3rd part offerings is based on open-source code in Golang, which is easy to read and fits the profile of a DevOps team well.
  • Some of the required functionality includes the automatic creation/removal of VMs and other Azure services, ability to identify long running jobs and kill them, create a list of all active environments etc.

Why Work for Synechron as a Consultant?

  • Variety of Projects:
You have an opportunity to work on a project for c6 months or perhaps c12 months, then once that’s completed, you will be consulted about moving onto another upcoming project with another client
  • A Constant Home within Synechron: No matter what project you’re on at whichever client, you will always be looked after by your Practice and colleagues back at Synechron. You will be allocated a Dedicated Contact within the company which will be one of the Practice Leads and you’ll have regular touchpoints with that person
  • Global Offices: We have 23 offices globally in some of the world’s most exciting cities, this allows you to travel and work form anywhere in the world for a period of time if you wish

Remote Working:

This will be on a hybrid remote/office-based model, with the split leaning towards being more remote (depending on client necessity). Most engagements are in the City of London or Docklands area when this hire does need to go into the office, but most of it can be done remotely
